White Orchid

“White Orchid” is a project conceived by the artist and designer Hef Prentice. It intricately weaves together the realms of digital and tangible. At its core lies a sculpture crafted in 3D and printed in PLA (polylactic acid, a biodegradable thermoplastic made from corn or sugarcane). This sculpture doubles as a fashion garment and serves as the foundation for the structure that supports a living organism: an orchid.

Accompanied by a fully realized 3D animation, the project explores how these two worlds can coexist and transcend the digital realm, presenting a sculpture or fashion piece that leaves no environmental footprint.
